Reliance Foundation works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalized communities across India, with the objective of integrating them into mainstream development process of the country. The Foundation focuses its efforts on five core pillars of Rural Transformation, Education, Health, Urban Renewal and Arts, Culture & Heritage.

Rapid population growth has caused a host of serious problems, including vulnerability of the poor to diseases and poor health. Most commonly encountered health problems can be tackled in primary care settings and a good primary care set up reduces the load on higher care Institutions.

Reliance has been providing affordable curative and preventive healthcare services through various programmes. It has constructed health centres, operates mobile medical clinics, emergency ambulance services and conducts various health awareness, diagnostic and preventive camps. There are specific programmes addressing maternal mortality and providing support to patients suffering from chronic ailments like AIDS and TB. The Reliance HIV and TB Control Centre (NACO Designated ART Centre) and the 28-bedded Community Care Centre & Reliance AIDS Care Hospital at Hazira have catered to more than 1,00,000 patients. Cumulatively the health initiatives have touched the lives of 2.9 million people.
