Participating Entities – R&R

Shata-Grama-Patiti – NGO engagement – 100 village program

  1. Capital investment/ village – Rs 2,75,000
  2. NGO to provide employment at District office for Operations Manager, Accounts, Marketing Head
  3. Conduct training program for 5 village groups (total 20 programs for 100 villages)
  4. Pace out the deployment with 5 new villages each month/ quarter
  5. Empower the Village Entrepreneur monthly/ quarterly reviews at District HQ.
  6. Engage with corporate sponsors CSRs
  7. Explore options to provide internet access to poorest of poor (POP) segment.

Village Entrepreneur

  • Small initial payment towards capital offset and commitment.
  • Recruit and retain one each as  Marketing executive, Field Engineer
  • Network engineer support will be provided by WSP.
  • Coordinate to get the BSNL pipe from nearest point with all permissions.
  • Set up a local office and meaningfully engage with customers
  • Maintain an accounting sheet with expenses and evaluate quarterly profitability.
  • Ensure profitability and sustainability with break-even in 15 months

SEN – RURALIZATION TEAM

  1. Coordinate between technical, social and local entities and help resolve problems.
  2. Evaluate technical options from a social perspective.
  3. Support NGO promoter.
  4. Maintain a fall back team to provide remote support in case of problems.
  5. Support in interfacing with government, panchayat and csr entities.
  6. Documenting and improving service deliveries.
  7. Explore options to increase revenue while reducing price to the rural segment.
  8.  Public sector banking and Govt support to be made available to NGOs.
